IHR Links Added to Clients' Web Pages
IHR has a policy of adding hyperlinks that point to IHR websites to the bottom of clients' web pages. These hyperlinks typically point to one or more IHR websites.
Why IHR Adds IHR Links to the Bottom of Clients' Web Pages
IHR adds these links for a number of reasons including:
- The links help to promote IHR's
Infertility Resources website.
- The links benefit IHR clients. Search engines rank web pages based on a "popularity contest." Quite simply, this means that the
more web pages that link into IHR websites, the higher IHR websites will be
listed in the search engines. If IHR's Infertility Resources is listed high
in the search engines, then users can easily find Infertility Resources; and,
as a result, users can find IHR's clients'
websites. We're in this boat together.
- It is typical for websites to provide acknowledgements for the design or hosting company on the bottom of their web pages.
What This Looks Like
If IHR develops and hosts the client's website, then at a minimum, IHR
will place the following hyperlinks at the
bottom of the client's web pages:

Making the IHR Links Less Prominent
IHR is primarily interested in the links in order to create more inbound links into IHR.com pages (in order to enhance the IHR.com search engine rankings). We are not trying to get user click-thru traffic from client websites into IHR.com. Consequently, IHR is happy to:
- format the IHR link for aesthetic integration into the client's
website look-and-feel
- make the IHR link less prominent by, for example, making a smaller font, lighter color, or removing the underline.
We have found that user clicks on these links are very minimal (typically two, or fewer, per month).
